Harvesting broccoli, baby carrots and more...summe Harvesting broccoli, baby carrots and more...summer is here.

Isn't it such a joy to be lost in the moment, lost in the garden with your favorite people?

I know we are not the only ones with a garden and many of you have been doing this longer than I've been alive. Thanks for your support!

After which I mixed in some lavender and tea tree oils for good measure. Voila! A balm, a salve, an ointment. We use this for cuts, burns, scrapes, rashes, chest congestion and pain.

The finished result will be a different shape than this as we rotate and pull in the beams to bend the oak. The oak was milled two days prior, nice and green for this project.

Did you know that bees collect the resin from vari Did you know that bees collect the resin from various trees to make their propolis or "bee glue"? They use it to seal their hive and weatherproof against wind and rain. They use it to keep themselves safe from pests and pathogens. It has anti inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. It helps to keep their immune systems and hives healthy. Without tree resins the bees would not thrive.
Once again, their propolis is made from a mixture of tree resins, poplar being one of them. Poplar resin has all of these same properties and is much more abundant than propolis.
I will make a tincture this year as well as salve so that we have some for internal use as well as topical!

Thank you trees!
Thank you bees!
